Another reason ebb and flow works better is that in NFT⁄drip⁄aeroponic type systems there is a much higher risk of success due to say an electrical outage, ph unbalanced in water, or wrong nutrient mix. Since the roots are literally hanging in the water they can die instantly within hours. NFT⁄drip⁄aeroponic type methods are a much more sensitive methods, and time and time again you hear someone say "everything was going great, until…" With ebb and flow you can grow hydro or soil with thicker, bigger, and stronger plants, with much less risks.
